The Topaz is a beautiful, almost colourless, prismatic crystal. During the Middle Ages, it was believed that if topaz was worn on the left arm it would protect the barer from curses and ward off the evil eye. In some Indian cultures, it was believed that wearing it over the heart would offer the wearer intelligence, beauty and longevity.
